When it comes to unleashing of histrionic fireworks on the silver screen, nothing makes a Bollywood flick sizzle as the presence of the curvaceous bombshell called Sameera Reddy. Ever since she came to limelight with Pankaj Udhas’s music video titled 'Aahista' hers has been a roller coaster ride to the top. Post the success of her first musical, she did a few modeling jobs before finally taking a plunge into the world of acting. She made her debut opposite Sohail Khan in Maine Dil Tujhko Diya. Her role was of a shy college girl who falls in love with one of her fellow students. The film didn’t do well at the box-office but the irresistible Sameera managed to make a mark on the audience and critics alike.

Soon came Musafir, a film that was to turn Sameera Reddy into a quintessential sex symbol. The film was quite controversial as it included a kissing scene between her and her co-star Anil Kapoor. From being a shy college girl in her debut film to being the sexy siren of Musafir, she is one of those rare actresses who bring life into almost any kind of role. But it is her stunning image and sensuality that is behind much of her popularity. About her progress in Bollywood Sameera says, “I was just 17 when I started out in showbiz with Pankaj Udhas music video. I had a young, innocent face then. I feel that the audience still thinks of me as a kid and isn’t ready to accept me as a 'sex bomb’. I’m quite okay with that.”

Her desire to enact the kind of roles that her audience may want her to do makes Sameera a hot favorite with Bollywood directors. There are no fancy airs about her. If the part that she has to play in any particular films needs her to expose, then she will expose without much ado. Even though she happens to be very shy and reserved in personal life, she has no problem in playing burlesque roles. Her point of view is that sex is the hottest selling item in Bollywood. She says, “Today’s cinema is quite explicit about sex. Being an actress means that you are expected to shed clothes. At the same time, I don’t believe that only sex can help a film sell -- that's too shallow a way of thinking. As for myself, I set my own limits and I know where to draw the line.”

Beauty it seems runs into her family. Her two sisters, Meghna Reddy and Sushma Reddy, are popular VJs and actresses. Together the three sisters form quite a powerhouse. Naturally it has to be expected that where there are hot beauties like the Reddy sisters there will be rumors of many relationships. The three beauties are having a tough time fielding of advances from amorous men. While Sushma and Meghna have been linked to many DJs, Sameera has been linked with filmmaker Sanjay Gupta. Plus a new rumor has started about six months back that Sameera was having an affair with the noted south Indian actor, NTR junior. But Sameera refuses to give credence to any rumor about her love life. In a recent interview, she insisted that she was single. “I have still not found Mr. Right.” We can only wonder who the lucky man would be?
