think I have proved my worth and
carved a niche for myself. Today,
I can safely say that I am a good and reliable actress. They call me STAR , but to very
modest I think I am yet to attain that status. But, I will one day. Wish me luck! |
My pet name since childhood. O n this score I would describe my personal traits. I am
lively, bubbly, headstrong, impulsive, sensitive and vulnerable. I get hurt easily. I hate
being rubbed the wrong way, you know what I mean. |
| The word itself tickles a funny bone in me. I think I do have a
streak for comedy in me. I also have a good sense of humor.
After working with Priyadarshan sir in Hulchul and Chup Chup
Ke and with Imtiyaz A li in Jab We Met I think I can call myself a
Comedy Queen. I am proud of the comic flair inherent in me. |
| Not as in the film, but I was elated doing Helen A untie’s song
Yeh Mera Dil Pyar Ka Deewana in Farhan A khtar’s Don and also
for sharing the stage with her for the same song in one of the
awards ceremony. I was on cloud nine when she appreciated
my dancing skills and blessed me on stage. |
| I am an emotional fool. I get emotional very fast. But, I hate being
emotionally blackmailed into any kind of relationship, be it in my
family life or my own private and personal life. |
| I love to keep in touch with all my fans. I interact with them
through my fan mails, my blogs and smses. So what if I have
had some unpleasant experiences in India and abroad. But
there have been some pleasant memories too. I am what I am
today because of them sounds clichéd to me, but it is true. God
promise! |
| Seriously no jokes! I have my own set of girlfriends since my
childhood, school and college days. We still meet whenever
I am free, go out on dates, long drives, discotheques, pubs,
candlelight dinners. I just love to freak out with them, have a
blast and paint the town red whenever I can. |
| Ahhhh! Home sweet home. I just love
to be at home with my mom. N ow that
Lolo is away in her own sasural, I am the
only person who gives company and
comfort to my mom. I wish I could do
that often enough. So when I am unable
to do that I just force her to accompany
me to my overseas shoots. |
| I relish the idea of being in love every
second of my life. It gives me the greatest high. With love I can do anything, without it, I get depressed.
I hate being taken for a ride when I am deeply in love with
someone. I was in love once and now I am in love again.
Hope I can be in love forever. |
| The joy and happiness that I share with my family, my
friends, my relatives, my three best film industry friends
Amrita A rora, E sha Deol and Konkana Sen Sharma. It also
happens on my shoots when I spend my precious moments
with my directors, costars, unit people like the technicians,
the make up dada, the junior artists and dancers and above
all the spot boys. |
| Obviously the Kapoor Khandaan, the first such a big family of
Bollywood. I am proud to be the scion of such an illustrious
and talented Kapoor family. The Kapoor heritage right from
my great grandfather the L ate Shri. Prithiviraj Kapoor to the
latest entrant my cousin R anbir Kapoor has indeed been
very remarkable, a noteworthy milestone in the annals of
the golden history of Indian Cinema. |
| My sister Karishma. My guide, my mentor, my philosopher,
my soul, my love, my inspiration, my source, my force and
my best buddy. I can go on and on but I am running out of
words. |
| I don’t know what I would be if I was not an actress. Perhaps I
was destined to be one because the profession of acting runs in my family’s genes. So here I would
like to list my favorite and forthcoming
movies. O ut of the twenty six films that
have been released till this date I would
like to make a mention of ten of them as
follows in reverse order - Jab We Met,
Omkara, Bewafaa, Hulchul, Aitraaz, Fida,
Khushi, Chameli, Asoka and my debut
movie Refugee. While my forthcoming
movies in ascending order are Tashan,
Kambakht Ishq and Golmaal Returns.
But I don’t know what’s happening on
the front of my other under production
movies like Lajjo, Milenge Milenge and I
think Kismet Talkies too. |
| I hate being labeled with a number. I
am not in the race to be the number
one heroine. I have been appreciated as
a good and successful actress. I would
love to be appreciated as a good and
successful STAR . I hate being rated as
an actress too. I am not an underrated
actress. I am not an overrated actress. I
am just a talented actress. That’s it. |
| I was on cloud nine when I got a lot
of critical acclaim for my performance
as Dolly in Omkara and as Geet in Jab
We Met. I am so glad that both these
performances were considered as
outstanding by my fans and even
hardcore critics. I consider these as the
best compliments of my life. |
| What can I say? L ife is always a question
mark at every crossroad. So we should be daring enough to face all the pitfalls, the highs and lows, the
ups and downs. |
| eah! I have done all kinds of roles till date. Y et I am still waiting
to get a chance to enact my dream role. N o I can’t tell you now.
I want it to be a surprise for one and all. |
| There was someone special in my life then and there is someone
special in my life now. Y es! Saifu has come in my life at a very
special juncture. He has made me come out of my pits of
depression. He has done so many special things to proclaim his
love for me. He has even accepted our relationship openly on a
television channel during a fashion show. |
| 5 Filmfare trophies for Refugee, Chameli, Dev, and Omkara and
the last one also got me the critic’s award too. But my most
memorable award is the ‘Queen of Hearts’ trophy I received
from Kareena Kapoor Fan’s A ssociation. |
| I still remember and cherish the fond memories of my uncle the
Late Sri R aj Kapoor Sahab. He loved me too much. I was very
close to his heart. Whenever we met we used to be so happy
with each other. |
| I have done playback singing for films like Dev and Kabhie Khushi
Kabhie Gham but for the first time I will be doing a voice over
for an animation film called Roadside Romeo. Just wait and watch
I can’t tell you more. |
| Yes! He has proposed to me in his own unique style. Y es! I
have accepted it. We will make an official announcement of our
wedding date soon. |
| We will celebrate Xmas and New Y ear’s E ve together
and………the rest is all a secret. |
| 2007 was good but in the end…I was heartbroken. 2007 also
helped me to find my true love. 2008 will bring in a lot of joy and
happiness in its wake both on the professional and the personal
front. I am sure it will be a rocking year for both of us. |
| I forgot to make a mention of Zoya A khtar’s untitled film and the
special appearances item numbers that I have done in movies
like Don and Kya Love Story Hai. I mean ours! Hai na? |
